Lenovo giving away dream prize to fantasy coaches
Lenovo is looking to give fantasy football gurus the experience of an entire NFL season from start to finish.
The official technology sponsor of the NFL is hosting its Fantasy Coach Season Pass Contest, which will award one fan the ability to attend the NFL Draft and the scouting combing in addition to training camp and home games for one team. Trips to the 2014 Super Bowl and Pro Bowl are also included. All participants have to do is state in 100 words or less why they’re the greatest fantasy football coach ever.
To get entrants’ creative juices flowing, Lenovo partnered with Funny or Die to create a series of videos with fantasy football standouts Robert Griffin III and Matt Forte. Fantasy coaches confront the Washington Redskins quarterback and Chicago Bears running back about their performance, suggesting they attempt crazier plays in order to rack up more fantasy points. Fortunately for RG3, the videos were made before his knee injury prevented him from playing against the Cleveland Browns yesterday. Griffin’s absence probably caused a few owners to falter in their playoff matchups.
Lenovo will use the contest to gage customer interest and drive more traffic to the company’s website. Ads promoting the contest will be featured on sporting websites like ESPN.com and NFL.com. There will also be a heavy presence on social media with some email marketing and public relations for the contest mixed in.
