Turkish Airlines Unites ManU fans from around the world
Turkish Airlines “Europe’s best airline” is continuing to increase it’s global footprint in sports by capitalizing on their partnership with arguably the most popular football team in the world, Manchester United.
Turkish Airlines launched their “Fans United” contest over Facebook in October where they would fly 19 Manchester United fans (one for each of ManU’s league title) to the home opener of the 2012-2013 season at Old Trafford. In order for fans to win, they would engage with the brand and earn points. Every 1,000th user to score 30 points won a trip to Old Trafford to see the first match of the season along with a tour of the historic stadium and a chance to watch Manchester United train.
Winners hailed from across the globe as it turned into a great promotion in driving engagement via Facebook, especially in involving fans from around the world. Check out this infographic done by Dekathon that breaks down the campaign.
